On 10th November, we were delighted to host a visit from the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland, Mary-Elizabeth McMunn, a native of Holycross.

A key part of the Central Bank’s work is their ongoing connection with businesses and communities across Ireland. Since 2019, The Governor and Deputy Governors have been travelling across the country as part of their Regional Engagement and Outreach Programme. These visits are used to meet with major employers and economic contributors in a local area, as well as culturally significant businesses.We made the Deputy Governor aware of the challenges faced both in business and in farming. Particular reference was made to the current labour shortages and the burden experienced from the imposition of excessive regulation on our sector, often from Europe.
