Centenary Agri hosted an autumn workshop in Clonakenny Village, Roscrea on October 8th & 16th. This collaborative event was organised in partnership with Teagasc Farming for Water, the Local Authority Water Programme, Tipperary County Council and Nore Vision – the Nore River Catchment Trust.
The workshop focused on the current water quality status within the Nore River catchment area and aimed to encourage the adoption of farm-level actions to improve water quality. Key objectives included supporting farmers in reducing nitrogen, phosphate, sediment and pesticide loads entering river networks.
Topics covered during the workshop included:
- The role of Tipperary County Council in water quality improvement and on-farm inspection
- Slurry and soiled water management
- Yard water management best practices
- The implications of nitrates regulations
- Opportunities for funding under the European Innovation Partnership (EIP).
